정상근 교수는 충남대학교 인공지능학과 부교수로, 인공지능, 기계학습, 자연어처리의 이론적 기초와 실제 응용에 중점을 두고 연구하고 있습니다. POSTECH에서 컴퓨터공학 박사학위를 취득했으며, 삼성전자, ETRI, SK텔레콤에서의 산업 경험을 바탕으로 이론과 실제를 연결하는 통합 연구를 주도하고 있습니다.
